LISA HAYNIE is a Tax Specialist at Katz, Bernstein & Katz, LLP. She spent over 20 years as a practicing accountant prior to joining the firm. She plays an integral role in the firm’s estate administration and taxation practices by using her skills and experience in preparing all estate, gift and fiduciary income tax returns as well as providing support in the preparation for audits, appeals and collection matters.
Lisa has been very active in many professional societies throughout her years in practice. As a member of the Nassau County Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs she has been a leader of the Federal Taxation Committee as well as the Estate and Financial Planning Committee and has chaired the membership committee. She has spent a number of years on the Chapter’s Executive Board and was recently installed as President-Elect. She was also a driving force behind the formation of the Chapter’s first Women’s Focus Group which she has chaired since its inception. In 2008, Lisa won the Sam Traum Award, given annually to a member of the New York State Society of CPAs, for outstanding service to the society and the membership.
Lisa is currently an Adjunct Tax Professor at SUNY College at Old Westbury, teaching Tax II to undergraduate students. She has also been very active in the community and since 2006 has served on the COAP Board, in conjunction with Adelphi University which provides high achieving minority high school students an opportunity to participate in a summer internship program.
